A NSW Multicultural Seniors Association Inc. Seniors Week event was successfully held at Auburn Town Hall on 9th April 2016. About 200 people attended the event.

This gathering was made possible mainly through the incredible efforts of NSW MSA President, Ms Yinlan Ge and her hard-working fellow executives. This Seniors Week event brought members together to develop our sense of community, to understand better how our association works and also to enjoy ourselves. We all work together to make our communities better places to live in. This is what we believe in.

At the event we had two honourable guest speakers – Le Lam JP, Emeritus Mayor of Auburn, and the Cabramatta State Member Nick Lalich. They both gave speeches, where they expressed congratulations and gave full affirmation and praise to our community and to our president Yinlan Ge.

President Yinlan Ge made two special awards to two people who have been special friends of the Association for many years. Ms Elizabeth Ding and Dr. Ernest Chan have given their support in a most generous way. The certificates that our president presented to them are marks of our respect and our way of saying “thank you”.

Our gratitude to Ms Huang, the conductor of Australia Chinese Glee and her musical team for bringing  much enjoyment to the event – continuing up until lunch time.

Last but not the least, we should give big thanks to our dedicated volunteers who made this event so successful.

  • Mr and Mrs Lu made Chinese Xinjiang traditional Lamb Pilaf, Xibei mixed jellyfish and marinated cold bean paste
  • Auntie Jin and her team made chicken and mushroom rice, stir-fried vegetable and rice, and salad
  • Mr Shang and Mr Dou both decorated the venue
  • Mr Shang managed the sound systems and the stage
