On July 15th, a unique exchange and performance by MSA art groups was held at Granville Town Hall.

Singing teams, art groups, and bands from the two associations gathered to exchange ideas. They used their songs, dances, and talents to compose a moving chapter of “Active and Joyful Aging.”

The host, Yang Na (Executive Vice President), meticulously planned and organized this exchange performance, which received unanimous praise.

Vice President Xiu Mei, the sound engineer, projector, photographer, and volunteers arrived at the venue early to prepare. A big thank you for your hard work!

On stage, the waist drum team’s red ribbons flew, the choir’s performance was powerful, and the small chorus… Solo singing and instrumental performances were joyful and heartfelt. Dance performances were graceful and elegant. The band’s playing was refined and beautiful. Every program embodied the passion and dedication of the middle-aged and elderly participants during rehearsals…

This performance was also a spiritual feast. It showed us that art never fades with age; on the contrary, it grows stronger with the passage of time, radiating the brilliant light of an unceasing life and relentless pursuit…

The MSA has always upheld its original intention of serving the middle-aged and elderly. Building upon its existing dance hall and training classes in New Vogues Dance, Ballroom Dance, and Latin dance, it has explored a new “professional dance training base,” adding vibrant vitality into the lives of middle-aged and elderly friends through dance. Its path is becoming increasingly broad.

Professor Fu Yujun is the first graduated student with a master’s degree in sports dance and an associate professor in the Department of Arts at Beijing Sport University. He has taught a series of courses on standardized social dances on Beijing Television. Over the past 10 years, he has won more than 30 medals and certificates in national and local sports dance and ballroom dance competitions. He is a highly experienced senior teacher. The MSA has the opportunity to invite such outstanding talent, which is everyone’s dream. Dance enthusiasts: learn from them, refine your techniques, and transform each dance into a healthy and joyful melody.

After a short period of preparation, under the personal leadership and coordination of Chairman Ge, the dance professional training base officially opened on July 30th, covering venue selection, group formation, publicity, and course operation.

The MSA Professor Fu’s dance professional training base officially opened today from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Granville Town Hall. Chairman Ge was present in person. Chairman Ge addressed the students before the class, encouraging middle-aged and elderly friends to actively participate in activities for their health. More than 30 middle-aged and elderly dance enthusiasts participated in today’s class. The students were excited, surrounding Professor Fu with questions as soon as he entered, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

Facing the enthusiastic and friendly dancers… Professor Fu was also very pleased. At the beginning of the lesson, Professor Fu briefly described his research and exploration of dance, and led the students in warm-up exercises.

Then, the waltz music began, and the air echoed with the melody of the three-beat waltz. Under Professor Fu’s guidance, the students practiced the square steps, focusing on footwork, movement, and body curves.

Today, Professor Fu emphasized six basic principles: waist control, advanced skills, and basic movements. The students benefited greatly and highly praised Professor Fu’s teaching. They learned many dance techniques, and even students with no prior experience achieved good results. This is truly something our middle-aged and elderly friends should cherish!

Finally, the students learned new partner exchange moves during a performance of the social rumba. We thank Professor Fu for his skill guidance and the president for her consistent companionship and encouragement. May our professional dance training base continue to thrive, bringing more joy and health to our middle-aged and elderly friends!

To celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, the two associations art troupes is currently rehearsing intensively.

Over the past decade, they have given everyone not only festive joy, a lively dance atmosphere, and free activity venues, but also the most precious spiritual home and emotional refuge in their later years. Thank you both for your hard work! You are true role models in everyone’s hearts.

On June 7th, the Consulate General of China in Sydney hosted a “Multi-Civilization, Multi-Ethnic Friendship Gathering.” Consul General Wang Yu attended and delivered a speech. People from various ethnic groups, local state and councillors, and others participated in the event. The program was rich and varied, and the atmosphere was lively. Representatives from the MSA and ARCFA participated in the event. Warmest congratulations to the art troupe for their outstanding performance once again.

An unforgettable weekend, a yacht birthday party hosted by the son for his father.
On June 13th, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Fairfield, along with Mr Dou, who has made significant contributions to community development, sent their 80th birthday wishes. Children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends all joined together on the yacht to celebrate.
This weekend evening was unforgettable not only for the beautiful seascape and romantic lights, but also for the deep affection and shared sentiments.
The 80-year-old birthday host was beaming with joy, inviting old and new friends from the association to this family birthday party. A sumptuous feast, a sweet cake, elegant music, and fine wines filled the air.
This joyful scene is destined to become the warmest memory for everyone… The sea breeze dissipated, the cake will be eaten, but our genuine feelings and shared happiness remain unforgettable…

The various dance halls scattered throughout the community are beloved by middle-aged and elderly friends. The Granville dance hall is the most popular, and the two presidents frequently attend. The manager and volunteers are all dedicated to their duties, passionate about their jobs, and provide excellent service. They deserve praise.

At Auburn Town Hall, the dance hall and New Vogues Dance training class are taught and demonstrated by Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Shaofen. The volunteers are enthusiastic, and dance enthusiasts are increasingly involved.

At Granville Town Hall, teacher Wang Shu teaches National Dance. Many new and old students are exchanging ideas and making positive progress.

Under the leadership of Zhang Shurong, the accounting office of the two associations has a clear division of work duties. Over the past year, they used their meticulous and rigorous work style to successfully complete all financial accounting tasks. They painstakingly processed the tedious data, meticulously collating each item, and went to the dance hall at the end of the month to collect payments, ensuring that the monthly accounts were clear and accurate. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all members of the accounting team.

Warmest congratulations on the successful hosting of the annual Russian Easter Egg Carving Event!

The annual “Russian Easter Egg Carving” event, jointly organized by the “Multicultural Seniors Association”, “Australia Russian- Chinese Descendants Association,”  and the “Australia Russian-Chinese Friendship Association,” were held on May 2nd from 12 pm to 3 pm at the Golden Palace Seaford Restaurant in Cabramatta. This large event, personally planned and directed by President Ge and President Dou, brought together over 200 people from different ethnic groups to participate in this cultural tradition. The Easter eggs still radiate an ancient and captivating charm.

The event officially commenced with the singing of the Australian National Anthem by the Jacaranda Art Troupe. After the host, Yang Na, introduced the guests in both Chinese and English, Father Nikiter offered a prayer of blessing. Then, beautiful women dressed in traditional Russian attire presented the guests with Easter eggs and traditional tarts, filling the event with a unique cultural atmosphere.

Following this, President Agathia Ge delivered a speech. Mr. Mihail Ivannovì, Russian Ambassador to Canberra; Mr. Bian Mazur, Minister of the Russian Club; Tu Zhen, President of the Australia-China Xinjiang Friendship Association; and Michael Ovchinnikof, Director of the Russian Museum, each delivered speeches at the celebration. Kenia Trifonova, President of the Russian Association of Northern Sydney, presented President Ge with a medal of appreciation for their many years of fruitful cooperation, praising her positive contributions to the preservation of traditional culture.

During the event, we enjoyed delicious food, watched performances, and participated in a fun egg-tapping game. A friendly and warm atmosphere prevailed, and people felt the warmth of human connection during the gathering.

An awards ceremony was also held. Fairfield Council recognized the two associations and presented certificates to volunteers who have made outstanding contributions to community building over the years. Birthday songs were sung for two people celebrating their birthdays this month, accompanied by music, flowers, and the company of family…

The second half of the event reached its climax with a Russian folk celebration featuring singing and dancing. With their graceful dance moves and passionate energy on the dance floor, their joyful steps filled us with the festive atmosphere, stirring the hearts of all participants. It was a life experience where joy and passion coexisted, making us cherish the present moment even more.

Special thanks to the MSA for their wonderful performances,  the ARCFA’s art team and other brother groups presented excellent accordion performances, duets, and a fantastic Sichuan opera face-changing show. Thank you to all the friends who participated, and thank you to all the volunteers, hosts, sound engineers, and photographers who provided services. Your hard work was unanimously praised by the participants. Fantastic!

On May 9th, the Australia Russian-Chinese Descendants Association was invited to participate in the celebrations hosted by the Russian Consulate. The beautiful dancers gave a brilliant performance.

The Association continues to provide entertainment venues for community building. The MSA provides services to middle-aged and elderly friends at different venues every Monday to Friday. The volunteers deserve praise for their dedication and hard work despite the shortage of personnel.

At Auburn Town Hall, the New Vogues Dance training class and special New Vogues Dance performances were taught by Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Shaofen, receiving high praise from dance enthusiasts.

In this crisp, cool autumn season, the Granville Dance Hall of the “Multicultural Seniors Assocation” remains open to the public four days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The number of new and returning dancers has steadily increased. We have excellent dance instructors who frequently visit the dance hall. Despite staff shortages, the volunteers work diligently to fulfil their duties, which is to be commended.

At the celebration event, everyone unanimously expressed their gratitude to our Chairman Ge for providing a platform for the various art groups. They demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong sense of responsibility, and a spirit of dedication. The organisers have done a commendable job, and we should all learn from them. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the hosts, instructors, logistics staff, and all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes.

Today, the enthusiastic speeches from the group leaders and members expressed their pursuit and love for life. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the members who have supported and helped them. The Jacaranda Art Team also outlined their future development goals, which was very touching.

Of course, these previous achievements speak to the past. Continuing to strive for even better results is our common goal. Today’s celebration was wonderful, with performances, awards, interactive activities, and a raffle. Special commendation goes to the Sailor Dance Team, who sent members to arrive early today to help volunteers set up chairs and clean the venue.
