Cumberland Volunteer Community Sector Networking Forum

Last night, December 11th, 2018, the Cumberland Council organised volunteer training at the Holroyd Centre Merrylands, focusing on the governance of volunteer organisations and raising participants’ explanations on how to manage volunteer organisations and organisations. This shows that the government’s emphasis on volunteer work is also an effective way to continuously improve the quality of volunteers.Special thanks to the Cumberland Council for providing training services for volunteers. It is helpful and inspiring to improve the participants’ work on volunteer organisations and better volunteer work. The meeting explained the duties and requirements of the presidents: every president who receives government funding must understand government policies and In the chapter, all government funds must be transferred for special purposes and reported in a timely manner. Volunteer groups must act in accordance with the rules, understand policies, and understand the law. The secretary must make a record of each meeting and timely convey the spirit of the government department to the members. The accountant must make a clear account and keep all the receipts of the accounts. Each receipt must be signed by the president. All financial management procedures must be performed. It must be monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Fortunately, all of these require our Friendship Association to act in accordance with the regulations, and the functions of the organisation are sound. The participants participated in the discussion and exchanges, and the related issues were inspired and improved. The training and study was held in the Cumberland Council when it was just approved. It is very timely, very important and very good! I hope that the next event will have a bigger harvest.
The Cumberland Volunteer Community Sector Networking Forum (CVCSNF) is designed to bring together representatives from volunteer-run community organisations operating in Cumberland including CALD community groups, sporting groups and religious leaders. The aim is to provide networking, partnership and collaboration opportunities for community organisations in the Cumberland Local Government Area who do not receive regular funding for their work.  The forum will explore the following: The roles and responsibilities of community leaders. Assess whether there are good governance practices in an organisation. The role of the Board/leadership in planning. Identify the organisation’s legal structure and potential Board implications. Determine areas and situations where there are conflicts of interest. How to oversee and monitor the finances. How to run effective AGMs.
