At 5:30 pm on May 2, 2021, the “Australian Chinese-Russian Friendship Association” held a grand “Russian Easter” banquet at the restaurant of Seafood Village in Cabramatta. First of all, I would like to thank Ge Yinglan, the president of “Australian Russian-Chinese Friendship Association”, and Mr. lgor N. ARZHAEV, Consul General of Russia in Sydney. Fairfield Council Mayer Frank Carbone delivered a speech and issued all directors and volunteer certificates of the “Australian Russian-Chinese Friendship Association”. The celebration kicked off with cheerful Russian dance. The scene is very lively! Participating in today’s banquet are related leaders and councilors of municipal government departments and presidents, chairmen, heads from friendly associations of various ethnic groups. Now when the epidemic is unblocked, everyone can gather together, singing, dancing, tasting food, talking about friendship, and tasting the award-winning Russian traditional high bread. This unique style of celebration has brought happiness back to us. There is a kind of love that organize the middle-aged and old people together letting them go out of the house, integrating into the society, reducing diseases, and enjoying their healthy and happy retired life! This is the slogan proposed by the “Australian Russian-Chinese Friendship Association” led by Ge Yinglan, and they did the same. During the epidemic, the “Australian Russian-Chinese Friendship Association” launched an online teaching model to allow everyone to participate in interactive activities and reduce the risk of virus transmission: learning English and Russian，Russian singing. At present, in response to the government’s call, it has expanded to mobile phone classes, dance classes, aerobics and other activities to spread common interests and hobbies. It has been praised by the majority of Chinese and Russian descendants and has affected a large number of middle-aged and elderly people to participate this excellent team. They take practical actions to compose brilliant and colorful pictures of life and exudes a beautiful fragrance.
